Some images from The Apocryphal Collection, my final project for the MA in Sequential Design/ Illustration at Brighton Uni. The exhibition opens this Saturday 13th, runs for a week and is well worth a visit if you’re in the area: http://brightonma2014.tumblr.com/
A recent comic I did for those sexy scoundrels over at Schlock Magazine. It follows the structure of a ‘nonet’ poem - a nine line poem where the first line consists of 9 syllables, the second one 8 and so on until the last line is a single syllable. Nice constraint, and perfect for a single page, nine-panel treatment.
Where did that come from? This was a little animation done for my first assignment on the MA in Sequential Illustration & Design that I’m following. The brief was to deliver a surprise in roughly 6 images. I’m not sure why the little blue man is naked.
Click here for a description of the maths behind the surprise.
A 4 page comic about MC Escher (‘Mauk’) and his relationship with his wife Jetta. Drawn as an entry for an open call by those lovely folk over at kuš!. It didn’t make the grade, but those that did went on to form š! #11 (‘Artventurous’), probably one of the most exciting new comics anthologies I’ve read in ages. You can see extracts and order a copy here.
